Church Leadership Studies


CL 200 Kingdom Principles- Survey of the basic principles of the Kingdom of God as it is described in the Bible. (3QH)

CL 201 Communicating the Gospel- In depth study of the preaching event. It will explore different types of delivery methods designed to extenuate the student's natural style and methods. Class has a lab module (3QH)

CL 202 Principles of Leadership- In depth study of biblical pastoral leadership with an emphasis on developing a pastoral theology and its application in the local church context. The study will examine the differences between types of leadership compared to Spiritual leadership. Class has a lab module. (3QH)

CL 203 Emerging Leaders- Advanced study on principles and practices that identify and develop emerging leaders. (3QH)

CL 204 The Teaching Ministry- In depth study of methods and principles in teaching the Bible. The emphasis will be on understanding the basic message of the books in the Bible by knowing who the author is, where he/she wrote it, when they wrote it, to whom they wrote and the purpose for their writing. Course includes a lab module. (3QH)

CL 205 Principles of Ministry- Calling Survey the basic foundations for the call to Christian ministry. (3QH)

CL 206 Understanding Church Conflict- A survey of the origins and dynamics of conflict within the body of Christ. Class will focus on methods and strategies to manage conflict. (3QH)

CL 207 Principles of Missions & Evangelism- A survey of the origins and development of Christian evangelism and missions as they are revealed in the Bible. (3QH) Church Management Studies

CM 200 Principles of Church Management- Introduction to the basic principles of management in the context of the local church. This course is designed for students who have limited experience in church management. (3QH)

CM 201 Principles of Church Administration- Introduction to the basic principles of administration in the context of the local church. The course is designed for students who have limited experience in church administration (3QH)

CM 203 Principles of Church Finance- Introduction to the basic principles and practices for finance in the context of the local church. The courses is designed for students who have limited experience in church finance. (3QH)

CM 204 Intro to Church Government- Introduction to basic concepts of government in the context of the local church as it is revealed in the Bible. (3QH)

CM 205 Church Marketing & Entrepreneurship- Introduction to basic concepts and principles for how to market church ministry. The courses will explore how entrepreneurial principles can be utilized in a Kingdom context. (3QH)

General Bible Studies

GBS 200 Old Testament Survey- Survey of the main books, people, places, and events God used to reveal his plan in the Old Testament. (3QH)

GBS 201 New Testament Survey- Survey of the main books, people, places and events God used to reveal his plan in the New Testament. Special emphasis will be placed on Christ, the Holy Spirit, and the Apostles. (3QH)

GBS 202 Pentateuch (Beginnings of OT faith)- Survey of the first five books of the Old Testament that lay the foundations of the major doctrines of the Bible. Students will be exposed to the major methods of how the Bible is interpreted (3QH) General Theology

GT 200 Introduction to Basic Theology- Introduction to the basic goals of the discipline of systematic theology and its role in the local church context. (3QH)

GT 202 The Life of Christ- A survey of Jesus' life and ministry on earth. Jesus pre-incarnate nature will be explored briefly as it appears in the Old Testament (3QH)

GT 203 The Doctrine of Sin- A survey of how the Christian view of sin was developed after the Fall of Man in the Genesis text. (3QH)

GT 204 Principles of Biblical Interpretation- Survey the Protestant tradition of Bible interpretation was developed over the history of the Christian church. The course will focus specifically on the literal method of interpretation. (3QH)

GT 205 Doctrine of the Holy Spirit- Survey how the Person and Work of the Holy Spirit was developed post Pentecost. (3QH)

GT 206 Faith Formation- This class will explore the process of spiritual growth and development after conversion. (3QH)

SG 200 Introduction to Spiritual Gifts- A survey of the origins and identification of spiritual gifts in the Bible post Pentecost. (3QH)

TECH 100 Using Technology in Ministry- Explore basic methodologies and strategies for how to integrate technology in support of church ministry (3QH)

GBS 200 Survey of American Church History- Survey of the early origins and development of the church and what makes it uniquely Christian. (3QH)

MH 100 Ministry & Health- Seminar class that explores how health and nutrition can affect the work of ministry. (3QH)

Practical Ministry

PRM 200 Introduction to Biblical Counseling- In depth study of biblical pastoral leadership with an emphasis on developing a pastoral theology and its application in the local church context. This class will have a lab module. (3QH)

PRM 201 Principles of Worship- In depth study in the biblical principles of worship. The emphasis will be on developing a practical theol­ogy and application of biblical worship. This class will include a lab module. (3QH)

PRM 202 Principles of Prayer- In depth study of the biblical principles of prayer with emphasis on developing an understanding of how to pray by spending time with Jesus through planning and journaling. (3QH)

PRM 203 Virtues of Marriage & Family- Explore how to develop and employ biblically sound principles, theology and virtues for marriage and family ministry in the context of the local church and community. (3QH)

PRM 204 Dynamics of Youth Ministry- Explore how to develop biblically sounds principles and theology for dynamic ministry in the context of the local church. (3QH)

Laboratory Practicum Courses

CL 100 LAB1 Principles of Evangelism- Practical exercise in the use of evangelism knowledge and skills developed by the student during his/her degree program. The project will be performed in partnership with a local church. (3QH)

CL 101 LAB2 Principles of Missions- Practical exercise in the use of knowledge and skills developed by the student during his/her degree program. The purpose is to demonstrate basic competence in the exercise of ministry. (3QH)

CM 103 LAB3 Principles of Church Administration- Practical exercise in the use of knowledge and skills developed by the student during his/her degree program. The purpose is to demonstrate competence in the exercise of ministry. (3QH)

GT 104 LAB4 Principles of Biblical Interpretation- Advanced study in the principles of Bible interpretation. Student must demonstrate the ability to teach classes and develop sermons using interpretation and research skills. Student must deliver a sermon and teach a class in a local church of their choice. (3QH)

** Students can do other lab projects if they are certified by the Academic Department at least one quarter before it starts. Lab must be done in a local church of the student's choice. The pastor of the church must approve and sign a covenant agreement with Kingdom Bible Institute.
